What’s New in Dining?

With much anticipation and enthusiasm for the grand opening, Mack’s Coffee and Cream shop began serving Residents at Homestead Village on March 18, 2025!  From delicious specialty coffees, to gelato, to sandwiches and avocado toast, the menu selection has been very well received by residents, guests, and even HV staff!  In fact, the coffee being served was chosen by popular vote of our residents during a special tasting event prior to Mack’s opening.

The inspiration for the Mack’s name comes from Lancaster’s rich coffee history.  Beginning in 1895, Horace Mack and his son J. Edward Mack started a coffee business here in Lancaster. Known as “Mack the Coffee Man,” their coffee businesses grew to sell over one million pounds of coffee per year up and down the east coast, according an LNP historian. The business was sold in 1967, and their former building was donated to the Fulton Theatre.

The coffee shop is located just inside the Homestead Village Apartments Building main entrance at 1800 Village Circle, and welcomes guests with delicious aromas of fresh coffee as they enter the lobby.

Solis & Luna – A Fresh Take on Dining

Dine your way, every day, at Solis, our casual and formal dining establishment opened in 2024. Each day begins with our outstanding breakfast offerings. Seat yourself, and our friendly servers will take your order and bring you one of our many made-to-order breakfast offerings.

At Solis, our lunchtime and dinner experience features wonderful choices of chef-prepared specials, made-to-order deli sandwiches and salads, hot entrées, and a hearth oven for fire-roasted pizzas and strombolis, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. Of special note is the chef’s action station, which features a different entrée every day. You choose the ingredients, and our staff prepares it before your eyes and delivers it to your table.  Take out and delivery orders are also available.

For a more elegant dining experience, visit Luna, where the dining room transitions to seated, waited service with table linens to make your evening meal gracious and relaxed.

On Sundays, brunch is a special affair, with all you can eat or à la carte choices and stations for waffles, omelets, and other specialties.

Our goal is to provide the highest-quality dining of any senior living community in Pennsylvania. All residents participate in a flexible dining program, and special dietary needs are carefully accommodated. Residents can also host events in their own homes or in the new Bachman Center and leave the serving, cooking, and cleanup to our Dining Services team.

The Stauffer Spring House – A Destination Dining Venue

Located at The Farmstead at Homestead Village, the Stauffer Spring House features lunch and dinner in a casually elegant setting.  An ever-changing menu of soups, salads, sandwiches and hot entrees are offered by our chef.   The design of the building, as well as the interior decor pays homage to the Spring House formerly located at Lime Spring Farm, where members of the local Stauffer family once enjoyed summer picnics and outings.  The Stauffer Spring House also features a fitness center and community room.
