The 2016 Homestead Day Festival will be extra special this year as Homestead Village celebrates its 30th Anniversary! As always, the event will feature activities designed to delight residents, family and friends. Scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Festival will feature entertainment for the whole family including games for children, delicious festival food, crafts and other items to purchase.
The Moonlighters Big Band, an 18-piece band from Lititz, returns this year, and will perform along with The Love Birds, and Phredd, a popular ukulele playing singer and songwriter who will entertain the whole family.
A new feature for 2016 will be Native American Games and Crafts presented by the Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Committee. There will also be a bounce castle, the always well-received Benchfield Farms Wagonette Ridesand Trist N Shout balloon art, all aimed to please children and the young at heart!
Residents have again created unique crafts for sale and there will be a white elephant sale, a used book sale, bake sale, flower and plant sale. Delicious barbecued chicken dinners will be available to eat in or take out, and festival food from hot dogs to ice cream will be offered. Homestead Village’s Corner Gift Shop open with unique gifts and special sales.
Homestead Day Festival is rain or shine, so mark your calendars and make it a “must attend” for your family and friends.
